The St. Louis Yom HaShoah Holocaust Remembrance Day service at Congregation Shaare Emeth on Sunday, May 5 took on special significance this year.

The theme was “Never Again Is Now,” in recognition of the aftermath of the October 7, 2023 Hamas attack on Israel. Not since the Holocaust were so many Jewish people were killed in a single day.

“In the wake of recent events, it is more important than ever that we reinforce our commitment to education and awareness,” said Greg Yawitz, vice chair of the St. Louis Kaplan Feldman Holocaust Museum. “Just as we honor and commemorate the past, we must also face the challenges of the present.”
