Congregation B’nai Amoona members gathered on Sunday, May 5 for the 7th annual Mitzvah Day. During the yearly event, teams of adults and children participate in mitzvah projects that benefit area nonprofit organizations, shelters, hospitals and first responders.

Mitzvah Day is also an opportunity to recognize one individual for volunteer work and performing mitzvahs every day. This year’s recipient of the Mitzvah Mensch Award was Harvey Greenstein.

According to senior Rabbi Jeffrey Abraham, “Harvey is the definition of what it means to be a mensch. He’s always here to lend a hand at B’nai Amoona and in the larger community.”
