This is it you guys, we’re in the home stretch of 2025. How should we wrap it up? Do we do our very best at everything to finish the year strong? Or do we sit back and coast by because we’re exhausted from the previous 11 months of being iconic?
Let’s decide by using three of the biggest lifestyle components as barometers: exercise, diet and money. These are the things most of us stress over, set goals for and most want to succeed in.
Finish strong: When it comes to exercise, experts say you can get motivated by thinking of an activity you loved to do as a child and get back to it. One expert said she loved playing soccer, so she joined an adult soccer league. Good for her.
Coast by: You know what I loved doing as a kid? Watching TV. Is there a TV watching intramural league I could join? Natalie, Tootie, Blair and Jo believe in me. I know they do.

Finish strong: December can be a tough month to stick to a healthy diet. So can January through November, but we’ll discuss that another time.
Right now, our thick butts are in the thick of social season, aka eating, eating and eating. Holiday office treats and endless party appetizers sneak up on you; you graze mindlessly and, before you know it, you’ve chased it all with a festive cocktail or three.
We could compromise by drinking only water and eating healthy every other minute than the minutes you spend at parties.
Coast by: Moderation is key, they say. Everything in moderation, they say. Fine, except for the fact that moderation is kind of dumb, and excess is where it’s at. That’s what I say.
More is more. You know where moderation is good? Effort. I gave a lot of effort on some days, and minimal on others, like the ones where chips and dips were the whole of my meal. I don’t always have time to whip up healthy options like my famous recipe for carrot sticks.
Finish strong or coast by? This one is a draw.
We’d all like to save some cash, but December gets really expensive with gifting, seasonal sales at the stores, and deals and steals online. Then there’s holiday travel and lodging. It’s hard to finish strong financially. But I can help with some money-saving tips on places you can stay for free:
1. Out of my business
2. In your lane
3. Over there
You can book as long of a stay as you want at any of these places and you won’t even see a bill when you leave. That’s because it costs zero dollars and zero cents to only worry about yourself.
I don’t know how your year went, but for me there are so many terrific memories — and a few I’d rather forget.
Whether you finish 2025 strong or coast into 2026, wrap it up with confidence. We’ve only got a few weeks left.
