Photos: The Empty Shabbat Table at Shaw Park

A solemn gathering in Clayton Friday afternoon, Nov. 3, supported the Israelis held captive by Hamas in Gaza. The Empty Shabbat Table Gathering at Shaw Park’s Enterprise Pavilion was a stark, symbolic reminder of the hostages. Long dinner tables with 114 chairs inside the pavilion were set for a dinner where no one would sit. An empty Shabbat table in Tel Aviv and in other cities around the world inspired the St. Louis gathering, according to Dafna Revah, one of the organizers.
