A hardy group of mountain bikers headed out on a snow-covered windy trail on Sunday, Jan. 14 to call attention to the 100th day since the Oct. 7 Hamas attack on Israel.

The local group, led by Galit Lev-Harir, met in St. Charles for a five-mile trek. Yellow ribbons were attached to the handlebars of their mountain bikes. The event was part of an international effort led by the professional cycling team Israel Premier Tech.

One of the St. Louis riders, Angela Smith, said of the minus-one-degree conditions, “We just want to bring the hostages home and bring awareness and if we go through this in frigid weather, people will think, ‘They must really care!’”
