Jeran Kaeleb Freistein, the son of Justin and Valerie Freistein of Chesterfield, became a bar mitzvah May 9, 2026 at Congregation Shaare Emeth

Jeran is the grandson of Bill and Linda Levin of Chesterfield, Ken and Peggy Brown of Creve Coeur, and Larry Freistein and Susie Wilhauk of Chesterfield.

He is the great-grandson of the late Mildred and Irving Lerner, the late Mike and Ruth Levin, the late Thelma Balk, and the late Harry and Jeanette Freistein.

Jeran has one sibling, Micah Freistein, who turns 16 this month.

A seventh-grade student at Parkway Central Middle School, Jeran plays club baseball and soccer year-round and basketball in the winter. He loves all sports, and spending time with friends and family. For his mitzvah project, Jeran volunteered at Train for Life Special Olympics. He encouraged and assisted athletes with special needs in training exercises. He chose this mitzvah project because he loves sports and helping people.
