Max Alper and Sadie Hurwitz would like to announce their engagement.

Max is the son of Keith Alper and the late Nancy Alper of Chesterfield. He is the grandson of Peggy Alper and the late Elliott Alper, and the late Stanley and Estelle Hoffman.

Sadie is the daughter of Scott Hurwitz and Kelly Austin of Evanston, Ill. She is the granddaughter of Kathryn Austin and the late Carl Austin, and the late Jay and Sandra Hurwitz.

Max attended Whitfield School and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 2019. He currently works at Uber in consumer strategy.

Sadie attended Evanston Township High School, graduated from Tulane University in 2020 and earned her doctorate in occupational therapy from Washington University in 2023. She currently works as an occupational therapist at Shirley Ryan AbilityLab.

Sadie and Max met in St. Louis in early 2022 while Sadie was in graduate school at Washington University and Max was working in St. Louis. By coincidence, they both had their own plans to move to Chicago that summer, where they have grown their relationship before getting engaged in Lincoln Park in July of this year.

A spring 2027 wedding is planned.
