Aliza Bregman loves seeing blue and white. She was in her element at the Jewish Community Center in Chesterfield on April 22 for the celebration of Yom Ha’atzmaut (Israel Independence Day). The colors of the Israeli flag were in abundance, which made Bregman happy.
“Blue and white, listening to everyone speak Hebrew, a lot of Jewish people, happy stuff, dressing up and seeing a lot of kids,” she said of the sights and sounds of the event, while absorbing a full Israeli cultural experience.
Nearly 500 community members gathered in the Fox Building gym for food, games and music. They were also entertained by stand-up comedian and social media star Shahar Cohen in a warm-up before starting his North American tour.
