After nearly four decades in Jewish communal leadership — including 19 years as president and CEO of the Jewish Federation of St. Louis — Barry Rosenberg now has an award carrying his name.
The Federation recently renamed its annual professional leadership achievement honor the Barry Rosenberg Professional Leadership Award, recognizing professionals in St. Louis Jewish organizations who are seen as innovators, mentors and role models in the field.
Rosenberg currently serves as a professor of practice at Washington University in St. Louis’ Brown School.
The first recipient under the new name is Jacqueline Ulin Levey, CEO of WashU Hillel, who has led the organization since 2009. Federation leaders credited her with guiding thousands of students through their Jewish journeys while overseeing a major period of growth and transition at Hillel.
Ulin Levey, a WashU alumna, has also served on the board of Hillel International and mentored Jewish campus professionals nationwide.
