Whether you’re discovering Judaism for the first time or need a refresher, the 2024 “Intro to Judaism” course is an inviting way to explore Jewish history, holidays, life cycle events, and the Jewish way of living.
Rabbi Rachel Bearman of Congregation Shaare Emeth said, “This course is designed to provide an introduction to the breadth of the Jewish tradition—with a focus on Reform Judaism. We talk a lot about the diversity of practice within Reform communities and within the Jewish people at large.”
The course, hosted by St. Louis area Reform rabbis, is a deep dive into Jewish faith, culture and community. It’s open to all—whether you’re seeking a deeper connection to Judaism, exploring conversion, or simply looking to learn more. This course is designed for beginners of all backgrounds and is ideal for interfaith couples, in-laws of Jews, unaffiliated Jews and anyone curious about or interested in expanding their knowledge of Judaism.
“What makes this class truly unique is that each of the four-week units will be taught by a clergy person from different congregations: Shaare Emeth, Temple Israel, Central Reform Congregation and United Hebrew,” added Bearman.
