Beloved wife of the late Fred Stuhlman; dear mother and mother-in-law of Daniel (Carol) Stuhlman, Marla (James) Goldin, Samuel (Alice Raven) Stuhlman and Morissa (Jason) Fregeau; grandmother of Asher Stuhlman, Adina Stuhlman, Deborah Goldin, Steven Goldin, Laura Beth (Josh) Roemer, Marianna (Nick) Yorio, Naomi Stuhlman and Gavin Fregeau. Great-grandmother to Westley and Evie Roemer; dear sister of Sheila (late Warren) Jacobson and the late Claire (late Will) Hack; dear sister-in-law of the late Pauline (late Harry) Schneider and late Matilda (late Lester) Zeffren; dear aunt of Dr. Richard (Claire) Hack; cousin, aunt and friend to many.
Beverly, commonly known as Fayge, grew up in St. Louis living above her parents’ store, Accurate Hardware. Beverly learned how to take apart locks (and later put them back together) from her father.
Beverly married Fred, commonly known as Fishy, Stuhlman in June 1948. Fayge and Fishy were married for 53 years before Fishy passed in 2002. Fishy often sang to Fayge her favorite song, Embraceable You.
Beverly was active in Na’amat, formerly Pioneer Women for over 70 years. She served as the St. Louis Council President from 2010 until she moved to Chicago in 2023.
Beverly graduated from University of Missouri St. Louis with a BA in education in 1969 and earned her Masters Degree in 1973.
Beverly taught in University City Schools from 1969-1971 and then was a Reading Specialist in Normandy for 22 years until her retirement in 1995.
Beverly had an active retirement, participating and leading Na’amat, substitute teaching, traveling, acting in plays at the Clayton Community Theater and other community theaters, and regularly attending Shabbat services at B’nai Amoona.
In the last two years, Beverly lived at Park Plaza in Chicago where she was friends with many other residents and participated in several productions of the Park Plaza Players.
Funeral service Thursday May 8, 10:30 AM at Congregation B’nai Amoona, 324 S. Mason Rd. 63141. (Also Available by livestream) Visitation from 10 to 10:30 AM in the Sanctuary. Interment will follow at Chesed Shel Emeth Cemetery, 650 White Rd. 63017.
