Rabbi Lori Levine to lead dynamic new JproSTL board

Rabbi Lori Levine of Congregation Shaare Emeth remains as president, while Shannon Rohlman (Saul Mirowitz Jewish Community School) and Rebekah Scallet (The J) step into the roles of vice presidents.

Dedicated to fostering professional growth and collaboration within St. Louis’ Jewish nonprofit sector, JProStL serves as the  professional association for staff across 50 organizations affiliated with the Jewish Federation of St. Louis. Now, JProSTL is announcing its new board lineup for 2024-25.

Rabbi Lori Levine of Congregation Shaare Emeth remains as president, while Shannon Rohlman (Saul Mirowitz Jewish Community School) and Rebekah Scallet (The J) step into the roles of vice presidents. Sarah Z. Levinson (JFS), continues as the immediate past president.

The leadership committee sees the return of Tanya Spivey (Congregation B’nai Amoona) as head of special events and Susan Kemppainen (Covenant Place). Scott Berzon (Jewish Federation) returns as Professional Development Chair, having previously served as vice president.

Tamyka Perine (LEAD STL) maintains her position as an at-large member, alongside new additions Rabbi Avi Feigenbaum (EMBY – Esther Miller Bais Yaakov), Melissa Katz (JFS), Lauren Lourie (United Hebrew Congregation), Jordan Palmer (St. Louis Jewish Light), Elyse Picker (JCRC), Rabbi Andrew Terkel (Be The Narrative), and Helen Turner (St. Louis Kaplan Feldman Holocaust Museum).

Outgoing board members, including Rachel Andreasson, Jessica Duneman, Jeremy Goldberg, Rabbi Chaim Landa, Rabbi David Reinhart, Ashley Stockman, and Shira Swidler, will be honored.

The board’s installation is slated for the Annual JProStL Networking event on May 16 at 3:00 pm, themed “Recharge Your Passion.” The gathering welcomes all staff devoting at least 15 hours per week to Jewish organizations, schools, or congregations.

Jordan worked at KSDK from 1995 to 2020. Jordan is a three-time Emmy award winner who produced every kind of show from news to specials during his tenure, creating Show Me St. Louis, The Cardinal Nation Show. He started ksdk.com in 2001 and won three Edward R. Murrow Awards for journalistic and website excellence in 2010, 2014 and 2020. Jordan has been married for 25 years and is the father of two college students. He is an avid biker, snowboarder, and beer lover. He created the blog drink314.com, focusing on the St. Louis beer community in 2015. Jordan has an incredible and vast knowledge of useless information and is the grandson of a Cleveland bootlegger.

Bill worked in corporate communications for AT&T for 28 years. He is a former columnist for St. Louis Magazine. Bill has been a contributing writer for the Jewish Light since 2015 and is a three-time winner of the Rockower Award for excellence in Jewish Journalism. He also is a staff writer for the travel magazine Show-Me Missouri. Bill grew up in University City. He now lives in Olivette with his wife and cat, Hobbes. He is an avid golfer and a fan of live music. He has attended the New Orleans Jazzfest 10 times and he has seen Jimmy Buffett in concert more t han 30 times between 1985 and 2023.
