Local Jewish organizations eligible for Staenberg Family Foundation grants in 2024

Established in 2005, the Staenberg Family Foundation serves as an important cornerstone within the Jewish Federation of St. Louis. Aligned with the Federation’s mission, the Foundation backs projects and initiatives aimed at fortifying Jewish life in St. Louis, as well as making impactful contributions to Jewish communities in Israel and worldwide.

Rooted in principles of tzedakah (righteousness) and tikkun olam (repairing the world), the Staenbergs established the Foundation to support, inform and inspire their family’s philanthropic endeavors.

“Tzedakah is fundamental to Judaism. We aim to impart to the next generation the significance of giving,” said Michael Staenberg.

This week, the Staenberg Family Foundation announces the continuation of its Anything Grants program for the 10th consecutive year.

The grants are intended to support projects in areas such as infrastructure, capital improvements, new and ongoing programs, technology and more. With a total of $50,000 in funds available, local Jewish organizations can apply for grants ranging from $1,000 to $5,000. Each grant will cover 50% of the project budget, with organizations responsible for securing the remaining funding from other sources. Projects are capped at a budget of $10,000, and grant recipients must complete their projects by a specified deadline to receive the funds.

Applications for the Anything Grants are now being accepted through Federation’s online grant management system at JFedSTL.org/AnythingGrants. The deadline for submissions is June 20. A panel of members from the Staenberg Family Foundation will evaluate the proposals and announce the grant recipients by the end of August 2024.
