The recent attacks in Israel have prompted Jews and friends of Israel everywhere to take action in support of those in need in the region.

One such local initiative has been undertaken by St. Louis native, Stan Hoffman whose band Folkstone will perform Tuesday from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm outside at The Hub STL in “The District” in Chesterfield, adjacent to 4 Hands Brewery and Hi-Point Diner.

The happy-hour event will raise money for the purchase of a Life Support Ambulance for the Magen David Adom, Israel’s emergency medical service.

Folkstone, a Roots-Americana quartette, is comprised of Stan Hoffman on rhythm guitar, Sean Thomas on lead guitar, Michael Pepper on drums and Peyton Dixon on bass and lead vocals.

“And over the last week, after the catastrophe that happened in Israel, I felt like I wanted to cancel it,” said Stan Hoffman. “My wife and my friends and my musician friends said, you know, we we have to push on and we can’t let them beat us. So, instead of canceling, we’re going to donate all our proceeds to Magen David Adom.”

Folkstone blends the earnest twang of Americana Roots and the “Olden Days” of Country Rock, combining folk, roots, and rock. From The Byrds to Turnpike Troubadours and Van Morrison to Band of Heathens, Folkstone has a passion for storytelling through music. Whether you’re a seasoned folk-rock enthusiast or a newcomer to Americana, their music will rock your heart and soul.
