The Jewish Light is now accepting nominations for its 17th annual Unsung Heroes awards, recognizing individuals and groups whose work makes a meaningful impact—often without recognition.
The deadline for submissions is 5 p.m. Friday, July 3. Nominations can be submitted online at stljewishlight.org/heroes.
Honoring work that often goes unseen
Each year, the Jewish Light seeks nominations of volunteers who are making a difference through their work without seeking public recognition.
These are the people who tend to fly under the radar—quietly supporting organizations, building connections and strengthening the community in ways that may not always be visible.
Honorees may include individuals or groups who are Jewish and making a difference in the local Jewish community or the community at large, as well as non-Jewish individuals or groups whose work has had a meaningful impact on the local Jewish community.
What to expect
The 2026 class of Unsung Heroes will be recognized at a special event on Nov. 19 at the Jewish Community Center.
