Active aging/volunteer fair for seniors at B’nai Amoona

A senior fair to encourage dynamic aging entitled “Living Life with Gusto and Purpose” will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 27 at the Guller Banquet Hall at Congregation B’nai Amoona. The fair is intended for seniors throughout the greater St. Louis community interested in volunteer opportunities, and people and organizations working toward improving the welfare of seniors.
A panel of speakers will focus on topics such as making aging a time for physical and mental health, life-long learning, and fulfilling volunteer activities. Speaker include: Monique Williams, Medical Director – VITAS Healthcare; Connie Fisher, Director of Mental Health Promotion at Mental
Health America of Eastern Missouri, and Peggy Neufeld, St. Louis NORC (Naturally Occurring Retirement Community) Research and Community Liaison.
There is no cost to come to the fair, which will also provide attendees with the chance to meet and talk to leaders from 20 community organizations about volunteer opportunities that help make a difference. Light refreshments will be servced.
