Rachel Weisel, daughter of Marsha and Larry Weisel of St. Louis, and Joshua Drian, son of Marjorie and Allan Drian of Goshen, N.Y., have announced their engagement.  

Rachel is the granddaughter of Martin Gotlieb of blessed memory and Shirley Gotlieb Frankowitz, and Annabel Weisel and Jack Weisel, both of blessed memory.  

Joshua is the grandson of Florence and Sam Cohen, and Romola and Max Drian, all of blessed memory.  

Rachel graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pennsylvania followed by a master’s degree from the George Washington University’s School of Media and Public Affairs. Rachel is a Senior Communications Manager at Pew Research Center.  

Joshua graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Wesleyan University followed by a J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law. He is a partner at Manatt, Phelps & Phillips, LLP.   

Joshua and Rachel met online in 2018. They had their first date at The Smith in Washington.  

Joshua proposed on October 2, 2021 on a beautiful bridge in a garden at the Hillwood Estates, one of Rachel’s favorite places in the city.  

An Oct. 2, 2022 wedding is planned.
