Weinstock-Hasson

Leah Weinstock, daughter of Dr. Leonard and Marty Weinstock of Clayton, Mo., and Jeffrey Hasson, son of Miriam and Leonard Hasson of Little Rock, Ark., have announced their engagement.

She is the granddaughter of Esther and Seymour Birnbaum of Delray, Fla. and Martha Sheerin of Owosso, Mich., the late Daniel Weinstock and the late Joseph Sheerin.

He is the grandson of Gloria Sak of Little Rock and the late Lester Sak and Eleanor Hasson of Montgomery, Ala.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Clayton High School and Indiana University, where she earned a B.S. degree in speech and hearing sciences and art history. She is currently an art consultant at the Photography West Gallery in Carmel, Calif.

Her fiance is a graduate of Pulaski Academy and Indiana University where he earned a B.A. degree in telecommunications.

He is currently an agent assistant at the Monterey Peninsula Artists, in Monterey, Calif.

An October 2006 wedding is planned in Monterey, Calif.

Finkle-Newmark

Karen Ilene Finkle, daughter of Bradley and Linda Finkle of Leawood, Kan., and Todd Gordon Newmark, son of the late Stevan Newmark and Linda and David Marcus of St. Louis, have announced their engagement.

She is the granddaughter of the late Louis and Ruth Finkle and the late Gerald and Harriet Sherman and Louise Sherman.

He is the grandson of the late Melvin and Sissie Newmark and the late Nelson Berger and Lenore Berger.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Blue Valley North High School and Indiana University, where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts. She is currently an account manager with an advertising agency in Chicago. Her fiance is a graduate of Parkway Central High School and Indiana State University, where he graduated with a B.S. degree in recreational and sports management.

He is currently an executive meeting planner with Embassy Suites Hotel in Chicago.

A May 2006 wedding is planned.

Banashek-Kaplan

Susan Margery Banashek, daughter of Robert and Esther Banashek of St. Louis, and Benjamin Andrew Kaplan, son of Stanley and Judy Kaplan of Williamsport, Pa., have announced their engagement.

She is the granddaughter of the late Alex Berman and the late Edith Berman of Louisville, Ky., and the late Julius Banashek and the late Helen Banashek of St. Louis.

He is the grandson of Sara Kaplan and the late Edward Kaplan of Williamsport and Henrietta Sklar and the late Benjamin Sklar of Ann Arbor, Mich.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of Ladue Horton Watkins High School and the University of Iowa, where she earned a degree in communications studies and recieved an MSW degree from the George Warren Brown School of Social Work at Washington University. She is currently a clinical case manager with BJC Behavioral Health in St. Louis.

Her fiance is a graduate of Loyalsock Township High School in Williamsport and a graduate of New York University, where he earned a BFA degree in film production and graduated magna cum laude.

He is currently owner-creative director of act3 and Designing the Story, and is on the faculties of Washington University College of Art and Maryville University School of Design.

A March 2006 wedding is planned.

Barbarash-Nobbe

Michelle Lynn Barbarash, daughter of Ed and Barbara Barbarash of St. Louis, and Christopher Todd Nobbe, son of Ken and Sue Nobbe of Wood River, Ill., were married Sept. 4, 2005, at St. Louis Marriott West. Rabbi Jeffrey Stiffman officiated. A wedding reception followed the ceremony at the St. Louis Marriott West. She is the granddaughter of the late Jack and the late Idel Barbarash and Marian Lipschultz and the late David Lipschultz. He is the grandson of the late Fred and the late Lorna Nobbe and the late Robert and the late Alice Dustman. The bride chose Barbara Barbarash, mother of the bride, as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Trina Wegner and Michelle Barry.

Carson Marie Barry served as flower girl.

The groom chose Jeff Jungers, his friend, as best man. Groomsmen were Keith Barbarash and Craig Barbarash, brothers of the bride. Usher was Wade Thompson. The ring bearer was Jacob David Barbarash, nephew of the bride. Following a wedding trip to the Bahamas, the couple resides in St. Peters, Mo.
