Competitive dancer, athlete, Hailie Klaven becomes bat mitzvah

Hailie Klaven, daughter of Jeremy and Sarah Klaven of St. Louis, became a bat mitzvah in October 2023 at Congregation B’nai Amoona.

Hailie is the granddaughter of Scott and the late Soozi Waxman of St. Louis, Don and Sandy Klaven of St. Louis, and Debra and Joel Spigel of Chesterfield. She is the great-granddaughter of the late Harriet and Monroe  Zimmerman of St. Louis, the late Ruth and Jerome Klaven of St. Louis, the late Shirley and Marvin Goldenberg of St. Louis, and the late Ruth and Louis Spigel of Stamford, Conn.

Hailie has two siblings, Gabie, who is 15 years old, and Zac, who is 2.

A seventh-grade student at Saul Mirowitz Jewish Community School, Hailie is a competitive hip-hop dancer, and she plays volleyball and basketball. Hailie’s mitzvah project involved providing care packages and personally delivering them along to the homeless, as well as providing love and security to homeless animals.
