Launch of #LetOurPeopleGo campaign presses for hostages’ release

Launch+of+%23LetOurPeopleGo+campaign+presses+for+hostages+release

As the St. Louis Jewish community as well as Jews throughout the world prepare to gather around the seder table to commemorate the Exodus and freedom from bondage, we cannot forget the 133 hostages who remain captive in Gaza. To seize on the meaning of Passover and the message from Moses to Pharaoh, “Let my people go,” The Hostages Families Forum Headquarters is launching a new social media campaign to keep awareness about the plight of those held captive alive.

The campaign’s message is clear: “Let Our People Go.” Using the hashtag #LetOurPeopleGo, the Forum is asking people to share provided images that highlight the faces and stories of the 133 hostages. They are also asking people to share pictures from their own seders of empty chairs with yellow ribbons, symbolizing those who are missing from Passover celebrations.

The social media push begins this Saturday, April 20, and continues until Monday, April 22. The campaign culminates on Tuesday, April 23, with the 200-day mark of the hostages’ captivity.

“By sharing these messages and visuals, supporters hope to raise global awareness and urge leaders to act in securing the hostages’ release,” said the Forum in an online statement.
