A university and grade-school educator, editor and author in Missouri, Illinois and Michigan, the award-winning teacher loved and was loved by her students. She taught teacher education, special education, and classes for gifted, international and juvenile detention students.A resident of Saint Louis County, Susan passed away at the age of 69.

Dear daughter of Marjori and the late Dr. Marvin Gibstine, sister of Kathleen (Terrence) Conners, Dr. Connie Gibstine (the late Jerome Altman) and Michael Gibstine (the late Mary Ann Schulte, Robin Fowler), Granddaughter of the late “Ed” Charles Francis, niece of Geraldine Allina and aunt of Kendra Roberts and Kevin Conners; Samuel, Max, Jack and Annie Altman; Jennifer Lammers and Erin Shepherd, she will be fondly remembered by her extended family, her many students and her long-time friends. Her remains are entombed at New Mt. Sinai Cemetery and Mausoleum, 8430 Gravois Road, Saint Louis, Mo. 63123.
