
Sandra Rose Kornblum (nee Walkin) passed away peacefully at the age of 92 on March 22, 2026, in St. Louis, MO. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 68 years, Leonard Kornblum. Sandra was a devoted mother to her two daughters, Teri Rutherford of Seattle, WA and Joan Dee Hall (Ed) of Clayton, MO. She was the beloved daughter of Jack Walkin and Rene Greenwald Walkin.
Sandra lived in the city of St. Louis as a child and attended Hamilton Grade School. Her family then moved to Clayton and she attended Demun Elementary. She then went on to Glenridge Elementary and Clayton High School.
She went to the University of Colorado in Boulder, CO, and then transferred to Washington University in St. Louis, MO.
Sandra was an animal lover and rode horses from an early age. She also had a love for classical ballet, having taken extensive classes and having helped teach ballet, from time to time, for Stanley Herbert’s ballet school. She also made costumes for her daughters and other ballet students for St. Louis Civic Ballet performances at Kiel Auditorium.

She was an avid reader, knitter and sports enthusiast, with a strong passion for professional football, baseball, golf and tennis. Mahjong played a big part in her social life. She also loved playing the slot machines in Las Vegas.
Sandra was a beautiful wife, mother, friend and aunt. A private memorial service was held on March 30, 2026 at United Hebrew Cemetery.
Contributions in her memory may be made to Alzheimer’s Association or any animal rescue or the charity of the donor’s choice.
