A new children’s book, “Aquarium ABCs,” is written and published by Michele Finbloom Dinman and her son, Jonathan Dinman, an animal registrar at Shedd Aquarium in Chicago.
It explores each letter of the alphabet and teaches children about the diverse aquatic animals that live in public aquariums and their habitats, including the giant Pacific octopus, African penguin, leafy seadragon, frogfish and giant isopod. Illustrator Susan Sundermeyer’s hand drawn pictures bring them all to life.
Finbloom Dinman, a project coordinator with the Washington University Harvey A. Friedman Center for Aging, and Sundermeyer, a retired pre-school teacher at Congregation Shaare Emeth’s Shirley Green Preschool, attend United Hebrew Congregation.
Their book is available at Barnes & Noble, Amazon and Bookshop.org.
