St. Louisans are invited to participate in a global moment of silence as part of a larger memorial marking one year since the devastating Oct. 7, 2023, Hamas-led terrorist attack in Israel. The event, organized by families of the hostage and murder victims, will take place at 11 a.m. CDT on Oct. 7, 2024 (7 p.m. in Israel). This moment of reflection will honor the 1,200 people killed and acknowledge the 251 hostages taken during the deadliest attack on Jews since the Holocaust.
Although the original memorial, set to be held at Yarkon Park in Tel Aviv, was limited to 2,000 attendees due to security concerns, the event will be broadcast globally. The memorial will feature performances by prominent Israeli artists and will be co-hosted by writer Hanoch Daum and actress Rotem Sela.
St. Louisans can join this international commemoration by watching the live broadcast through a provided link. Participants are encouraged to gather with loved ones or their local community to share in this act of remembrance and solidarity.
