(JNS) The New Jersey snowplow operator who was caught on film spraying two religious men with snow and ice was fired over the weekend, according to media reports.

Danny Klarmann, who was employed by New Jersey Waste Management, reportedly posted a video on Facebook, recorded by a friend, of himself targeting the two Orthodox men while driving through Lakewood, N.J. The video caption read: “This one’s for you JC.” It has since been removed.

Klarmann is also facing potential hate-crime charges from the two men. Lakewood police and the Ocean County Prosecutor’s office are investigating.

The names of the victims have not been released.

The Orthodox Jewish Chamber of Commerce cited the “sickening antisemitic incident on Saturday [that] was recorded and posted to Facebook by the perps themselves.” Duvi Honig, CEO of OJCC, called for Waste Management to “dismiss these employees as soon as possible.”

In response, Waste Management issued an official statement asserting, “the hateful conduct depicted in the video is unacceptable and does not reflect the values of inclusion and diversity we hold as a company.”

Lakewood Mayor Raymond Coles also responded, calling the incident “incredibly stupid and dangerous” in a statement widely quoted by the media.

“The plow could easily have thrown chunks of ice or rock and seriously injured or killed either of the victims. I am glad to know our police department is investigating all aspects of this incident,” the mayor said.
