(JTA) — Ryan Harris, a junior at suburban Cleveland’s Beachwood High School, won an Ohio state wrestling championship.
Harris took the title in the 160-pound class of Div. III on Saturday at the Value City Arena on the campus of the Ohio State University in Columbus, the Cleveland Jewish News reported. The Jewish grappler scored an 11-5 decision over Jared Mattin of Delta in the finals.
Beachwood teammate Sammy Gross, the state champion last year at 113 pounds, was upset in his bid to take the 120-pound title and finished third.
