Newsmakers: B’nai Amoona rabbi, USY leaders

The Jewish Theological Seminary (JTS) awarded honorary doctorates to 36 rabbis at an online convocation ceremony June 6. Among those whose achievements were honored was Rabbi Carnie Shalom Rose, the Rabbi Bernard Lipnick Senior Rabbinic Chair at Congregation B’nai Amoona. JTS recognized the rabbis for serving the Jewish community and the Conservative movement with distinction for more than 25 years.
Congratulations to Congregation B’nai Amoona USY (BAUSY), and mazel tov to the 2021-2022 Emtza Regional Executive Board, which includes president David Smith and executive vice president Ellior Rose. Smith, who will be a senior at Parkway Central High School, is the son of Jennifer and Matt Smith. Rose attends Whitfield High School, where she will be a senior. Her parents are Rabbi Carnie and Paulie Rose.
