Kol Rinah plans scholar-in-residence weekend

Kol Rinah will welcome as scholar-in-residence noted author and scholar Rabbi Bradley Shavit Artson Feb. 13 to 15. Events include:

• Friday, Feb. 13 —  A 5:15 p.m. wine and appetizer reception, followed by a musical Kabbalat Shabbat service at 6, led by Hazzan Joanna Dulkin, followed by dinner at 7:30 p.m.  Artson will present “My House is a House of Prayer for ALL People” at 8:30 p.m. Reservations for the dinner (adults, $25; children under 11, $12) must be made by Feb. 6. The presentation following dinner is open to the community.   

• Saturday, Feb. 14 — Artson will give a Shabbat d’var/sermon entitled “Almighty? No Way! A New Way to Love God,” followed by a kiddush lunch prepared by Sisterhood, sponsored by the Sarah and Leo Wolf Adult Education Fund and the Faye Keyser Fund. A lunch and learn session follows at 12:30 p.m. with Artson’s discussion of his book “God of Becoming and Relationship: The Dynamic Nature of Process Theology.” Free and open to the community.

• Sunday, Feb. 15 —  Artson presents a lecture at 10 a.m. on “What Are We Doing When We Pray?” based on his book “God of Becoming and Relationship.” Free and open to the community.
