JAMI, Jewish Attention to Mental Health-Mental Illness, will hold “Shanda: There Is None,” a community forum convened by Rabbis Susan Talve and James Stone Goodman, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 15 at Central Reform Congregation, 5020 Waterman Blvd. The forum is the eighth part in a series about mental illness and mental health. Each session takes a different approach to essentially the same problem: hiddenness around mental illness. This chapter, the group “will continue to open up more of a community strategy to penetrate the veil of secrecy surrounding mental illness, and offering up some teachings for living with greater depth, joy and purpose.” The forum will discuss ways to “build the tool box for living in and around mental illness.” Confidentiality will be carefully respected. For more information, call Goodman at 314-222-9864.
