The St. Louis Kaplan Feldman Holocaust Museum is inviting visitors to get their Hands on History this weekend as it celebrates its third birthday since reopening. The special two-day event on Nov. 1–2 features a “pay as you wish” admission, allowing guests to choose any ticket price of at least $0.01 for access to the museum’s permanent exhibition.
History you can literally touch
The highlight of the weekend is the museum’s first-ever Hands on History experience giving visitors the chance to interact directly with artifacts from the museum’s collection, many never displayed before. Four artifact stations will be set up throughout the gallery where staff and volunteers will guide guests through each object’s story and context.
“This is a special opportunity for visitors to get up close with artifacts from our collection, some of which have not been on exhibit before, and learn more about the items and their history,” said Amy Moorman, Director of Archives and Collections.

A weekend of access and reflection
The Hands on History experience is included with any admission ticket, including pay-as-you-wish entry. Visitors can explore the museum’s permanent Holocaust exhibition and its educational spaces designed to encourage reflection and dialogue about prejudice, responsibility and remembrance.
Museum officials hope the event will inspire guests to connect with history in new ways while celebrating three years since the museum’s reopening. More details about the “Hands on History” program and weekend schedule are available at STLHolocaustMuseum.org.
