AIPAC, B’nai Amoona welcome speaker from Israel for community briefing Sept. 7

AIPAC and Congregation B’nai Amoona are holding a community briefing by Leslie Levy Mirchin, AIPAC Director of Policy and Research in Israel. Mirchin will speak on “A View from Jerusalem: The Struggle in September” at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7 during a community program and dessert reception at B’nai Amoona, 324 South Mason Road.
In AIPAC’s Jerusalem office, Mirchin meets regularly with senior Israeli, American and Palestinian officials, as well as academics, think tank scholars and private sector players and updates AIPAC’s team of Washington lobbyists and researchers on developments in the policy, political and security arenas. This is her second tour with AIPAC, having served as a Congressional lobbyist in AIPAC’s Washington headquarters in the mid 1980’s. Leslie also worked on Capitol Hill for then-Congressman John Breckinridge (D-Ky.).
A Harvard Business School graduate, Mirchin helped launch and run two non-profit organizations in Boston, the Jewish Women’s Archive and Gateways. For nearly a decade, Mirchin served as Director of the U.S. office of HK Strategies, an Israeli-based consulting firm. Raised in Lexington, Kentucky, Mirchin currently lives in Ra’anana with her husband and three children.
