After eight years of study, Sonia Breit was recently ordained as a rabbinic chaplain from ALEPH Alliance for Jewish Renewal, through the ALEPH Ordination Program (AOP), and the Jewish Spiritual Leaders Institute (JSLI).
Her focus is hospice care and she can perform funeral services. AOP offers a comprehensive curriculum of study and practica for students aspiring to become rabbis, cantors, rabbinic chaplains and spiritual directors, embracing both traditional modalities of learning and prayer and the exploration of new learning, ritual, art, music and prayer experiences.
JSLI offers a structured pathway to rabbinic and cantorial ordination and continuing education through online instruction and guided mentorship. Breit is a member of Congregation B’nai Amoon
