Robert Hahn came out of retirement in 2026 when Yale University hired him to teach ancient philosophy in the alumni college via online.
After a 42-year career at Southern Illinois University Carbondale, Hahn, a member of Congregation Temple Israel, retired in 2025 with the title of professor emeritus of philosophy, honoring his decades of scholarship, teaching and innovation in ancient studies.
