New Jewish Theatre to stage Mamet’s ‘Speed-the-Plow’
Published January 30, 2013
The New Jewish Theatre’s next production brings to the stage playwright David Mamet’s “Speed-the-Plow” —the first Mamet play staged by the NJT in its 16-year history.
The play, a satirical black comedy that looks at the corrupt world of Hollywood, runs from Feb. 7 to 24 at the NJT’s Wool Studio Theatre on the JCC Staenberg Family Complex, 2 Millstone Campus Drive.
Mamet is one of America’s leading contemporary playwrights and is known for looking at society with a cynical eye — and for his prodigious use of four letter words (this play is no exception and contains mature language).
