Colie Bushong, of Temple Israel

Each year, the Jewish Federation of St. Louis presents the RubinBrown Corporate Leadership Award to a company that embodies philanthropic leadership in our community. Wallis Companies, together with the Wallis Family, have exemplified this commitment through significant investments in the Jewish community and Israel and are this year’s honorees.

Who are the Wallis Companies

Bill Wallis founded Wallis Companies in 1968 after purchasing a small gasoline station in Cuba, Mo. His vision was to create a premier petroleum company that offered exceptional customer service. Today, the company, which started with just one store, has expanded into a multi-state organization with over 1,400 employees and includes the retail chain “On the Run” convenience stores with locations all across St. Louis and beyond.

Philanthropy

Inspired by Bill Wallis’ dedication to giving back, Wallis Companies and the Wallis Family have been fully committed to the St. Louis community, supporting Jewish life and institutions, as well as initiatives in Israel. They provide scholarships for education, support emergency housing in Israel, aid to IDF soldiers and contribute to Reform Jewish life and shared society projects. Additionally, they back the Montana Jewish Project, revitalizing Montana’s oldest synagogue into a vibrant community space.
