It’s become a bit of a Passover tradition — just when you’re knee-deep in cleaning and planning for seder, the Jewish a cappella group Six13 drops a new parody video to lighten the mood.
This year is no different. On Thursday, the group released their latest holiday hit, a Passover-themed spin on Bruno Mars’ mega-hit “Uptown Funk” and “That’s What I Like” called “PSVR.”
If the title sounds cryptic, don’t worry — it’s classic Six13 wordplay. The group reimagines the glitz and groove of Bruno Mars with lyrics that bring the Exodus story to life, complete with plagues, matzah and Moses leading the charge.
The video is packed with slick harmonies, sharp choreography and plenty of inside-Jewish humor, which has become Six13’s signature style over the years. The group’s goal? To help people celebrate Passover not just with food and ritual, but with a smile.
The St. Louis connection to Six13
And of course, there’s a local connection. Six13 member Lior Melnick is a St. Louis native, an alum of Solomon Schechter Day School (now Saul Mirowitz Jewish Community School) and a member of Traditional Congregation. In past years, Melnick has been one of the driving forces behind the group’s clever lyric rewrites and vocals.
The group is known for its polished parodies, from Billy Joel to ABBA, all tailored to celebrate Jewish holidays with humor, heart and some pretty impressive vocal chops. Last year, they released “Matza Mia,” a Passover mashup of ABBA classics. The year before, they tackled Billy Joel with “A Billy Joel Passover.”
This year’s “PSVR” continues the tradition, leaning into high-energy pop production, slick visuals and the kind of clever Jewish wordplay that’s earned the group millions of views online.

And if you’re wondering why they keep doing this year after year — it’s simple. As the group puts it, they want to help people connect to their Jewish heritage through music, joy and a little bit of silliness.
Because after all, nothing says “let my people go” quite like a Bruno Mars beat drop.
