Community support helps residents keep Shabbat services
Once again the Jewish community has come forward in a time of need.
Because of the article in the Jewish Light (“Residents hope concert will keep services afloat,” Nov. 23), by Patricia Corrigan that described the Covenant/Chai Tenants’ Council’s difficulty in raising enough money to continue Shabbat services, and the benefit concert by Harif, B’nai Amoona’s house band, to help continue our weekly Shabbat services.
The concert was a great success where people opened their hearts and their check books.
We received special donations from Lanie and Milton Goldenberg in memory of Sam and Edith Goldenberg and from the Julius, Anna and Lilian Jossem Memorial Fund distributed by the Jewish Federation.
The Covenant/Chai Tenants’ Council wishes to thank Harif for volunteering their services for the benefit concert that made all this possible.
As a Jewish community it is important that we continue to have Jewish Services, especially for the residents who do not have transportation to attend services outside the community.
We extend a big THANK YOU to the St. Louis Jewish Community.
Dee Wolf, President of Covenant/CHAI Tenant Council
