I’ll get to the point. Nolan Arenado and Paul Goldschmidt are Cardinals treasures. The ignorant comments by some that they caused our two-game loss needs to be addressed.

Both of these men are great MLB players and exemplary citizens. Hitting 90-plus pitches as well as great breaking balls and off-speed pitching requires greatness. Both have done this throughout their stellar careers.

Just a few guys who played before Nolan and Goldy who also had subpar post-seasons.

Willie Mays

Barry Bonds

Mark McGwire

Mike Schmidt

Jackie Robinson

Roy Campanella

A-Rod

Robinson Cano

Clayton Kershaw

Joe Morgan

Tony Perez

They all achieved greatness in their careers. That’s just a handful of many who had poor postseason games. That does not diminish their overall greatness. I’ll stop with this. It’s so easy to be a front-runner. Most who are criticizing our two great Cardinals probably never played this great game.
