William “Bill” Gilbert Shoss

William “Bill” Gilbert Shoss, 85, passed away surrounded by family and long-time friends on May 5, 2016. Beloved husband of Samuella “Sammy” Shoss (nee Austin); loving father and father-in-law of Brenda Shoss and Grady Ballard, Deanna Shoss and Geno Bonaventura, Cara Shoss and Adam Klass; super-extraordinary grandfather of Elijah, Lucca and Aiden, best big brother to Barbara (Stan) Grossman and uncle, great uncle, cousin and friend to many.
Bill was universally loved by all. He was a nationally acclaimed, award winning advertising CEO and one-time St. Louis Direct Marketer of the Year. He was an alumnus of Washington University (ZBT) and a veteran of the Korean War. Bill was a great athlete, playing baseball (pitcher), competitive tennis and golf, among others. He loved to travel, visiting 49 states, Europe and South America. He loved Dixieland jazz and the Eagles (both kinds). He loved dogs, was an avid reader and an accomplished artist.
Visitation Monday, May 9th, 10:30 AM at Central Reform Congregation, 5020 Waterman at Kingshighway, followed by funeral service at 11:00 AM. Interment Beth Hamedrosh Hagodol Cemetery.
