Ted Weiner passed on September 26, 2025. At 95, he leaves this life to hold hands once again with his beloved wife of 64 years, Doris, after six years of missing her deeply. Ted will be remembered by a simple teaching: “do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” He worked hard to build a good life for his family, protect his children’s future, and support causes that fought for justice, equity, and inclusion. He lived well. but simply, and with generosity, integrity, and purpose.
Ted was the consummate pragmatist who adapted to life’s vagaries and enjoyed himself along the way. Always athletic, he was a competitive swimmer in his youth and a formidable handball player in adulthood. He served in the Air Force, attended college, and started his own real estate development company. He soon joined up with larger design/build firms and planted hospitals and banks across the country. Later in life, he became a financial advisor, a role he loved, helping others achieve what he had, stability, security, and freedom from worry.
Ted grew up and made his home in St. Louis for 53 years until he and Doris moved to Nashville TN in 1983, then later to Bradenton FL. In 2009, after 26 years away, they returned to St. Louis and joined the community at Gatesworth. They lived out their lives focused on each other, their children and grandchildren, and both old and new friendships.
Ted is survived by his three children Kate Anderson (Ken), James Weiner (Britta), and Patricia Weiner (David Snook); nine grandchildren Adam Snook, Trixie and Joe Weiner, Katie Elder (Patrick), Andrew Richardet (Chrissy), Megan Whalen (Tyler), Michael Anderson, and Selina and Julian Eibl; and 10 great-grandchildren. He is survived by niece Nancy Schlesinger, nephew Tim Schlesinger; and two brothers.
