Sarah Anne (Neumann) Chaskelson passed away peacefully on January 22, 2025 after a courageous and brave battle against a difficult illness. Up until the end, Sarah maintained her gentle nature, kindness, and composure, even in the most trying of times.
Sarah was born on November 29, 1949 in St. Louis, Missouri. Growing up, she enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, listening to music, and always had a passion for helping others. Shortly after graduating from University City High School, her best friend, Helene took her to a party, and there Sarah met her beloved late husband, Steve Chaskelson. Sarah and Steve married shortly thereafter, and had a son, then moved to Kansas City so Steve could pursue a business opportunity. Shortly after their move, Steve and Sarah welcomed their daughter, and Sarah found her true passion — taking care of and raising her children. Sarah was the perfect example of what a mother should be — always supportive, loving and sweet. Her love for her family and friends was unconditional, and her smile, good spirit, and sense of humor brightened everyone who crossed her path.
Once Sarah’s children were grown, she worked as a preschool teacher in which her warmheartedness, compassion, and patience was welcomed and appreciated by all the families and children she worked with.
Sarah was a wonderful mother, wife, daughter and friend. She is survived by her son, Aaron Chaskelson, daughter Emily Chaskelson, son in law Luke Stemmerman, and her grandpets, Beau, Lox, Margot and Rodge.
Her children would like to thank Dr. Warren Brenner and his team at the Lynn Cancer Institute, along with all doctors, nurses and staff at Trustbridge Hospice of Palm Beach County.
A private memorial service will be held Saturday, February 1, 2025. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Trustbridge-Hospice of Palm Beach County (https://trustbridge.com/give/) and The Lynn Cancer Institute (https://donate.brrh.com/make-a-donation/cancer/).
