Pamela Jean Singer (née Parker) passed away on Sunday, December 31 while being comforted by family. She is survived by her son Benjamin Douglas Singer (Sarah) and Elana Rachel Feinstein (Raphael). She is also survived by her former husband Marc Singer, the father of her children. Pamela was predeceased by her brother Doug Parker.

Pamela was an intellectual, principled, fun-loving, spiritual, and adventurous published author of short stories, who always put her children first.

Pamela planned trips to foreign countries, concerts, and carnivals for her family. She loved to learn, putting herself through college in the United Kingdom and Iowa (including classes at the Writer’s Workshop), attending adult Jewish learning, and earning a master’s degree at age 55.

Pamela lived her values, including prolific volunteerism, philanthropy, and religious observance. She served as Sisterhood President at Traditional Congregation where she also organized the annual Tu B’Shevat seder. For years, she single-handedly organized the Book Fair at Solomon Schechter Day School. She was also a passionate advocate for animal welfare, fostering and adopting rescued greyhounds. No task was too small or too great for her. She took great pride in her later work at the Treasury Department where she received numerous commendations for her excellent work ethic, accuracy, and commitment to public service.

Graveside service Tuesday, January 2nd 4:00 PM at Chesed Shel Emeth-Beth Shalom Cemetery, 650 White Road.
