Maxine Lichtenstein Levy, aged 100, passed away peacefully on May 18th, 2025, leaving behind a cherished legacy of love, service, and joy.
Maxine (Mackie) was the beloved daughter of Ann and Harry Lichtenstein and the devoted wife of Harold Levy (Deceased). She is survived by her children, Linda Levy Katz (Caroline Tamm) and Larry Levy (Jill Levy), and was predeceased by her son, Paul Levy (Debbie Levy). She was the proud grandmother of Laurie Katz, Joshua Katz, and Evan Levy, and great-grandmother of Zachary and Hunter Neeley and Kobi and Charlie Katz.
Maxine had a deep passion for nurturing young minds. She spent her time during and after Stephen’s college, teaching young children to read and to have fun learning. She later shared her love of reading through the Oasis Intergenerational Tudor program at Clayton’s Glenridge Elementary School, her alma mater.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to her devoted caregivers over the years—A special thanks to Lauren Adams for her years as Maxine’s cherished companion and caregiver. An immense appreciation to Marcie, Marletta, Lawanda, Shawanda, Megan, Gwen, Jasmin and Sandra, whom gave Maxine the best of care. Each one an angel.
Visitation Wednesday, May 21st, 10:30 AM at BERGER MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 9430 Olive Blvd, followed by funeral service at 11:30 AM. Private family interment. Please visit bergermemorialchapel.com for more information.
