Max Erlich

Max Erlich, died October 18, 2014. Born May 2, 1917, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 74 years, Melba (Drew) Erlich and sons Bruce and John. He was a prominent businessman in Greater St. Louis for many decades. He established Erlich’s Cleaners and a shoe repair business. At one time there were 17 outlets, as well as branches in the Stix, Baer & Fuller, Famous Barr, and local G.E.M. stores. Max enjoyed traveling with his wife and friends and was a devoted Cardinals fan. The Drew and Max Erlich Charitable Foundation generously supports the Jewish Family and Children’s Service, and funded the building of its Food Pantry. They also supported organizations which encouraged entrepreneurial skills in young people and funded the Kosher Kitchen Cafe at the Crown Independent Living Center. There was a private funeral.
