It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Lois Bender passed away peacefully on August 20, 2025, surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Cherished wife of the late Wilbur (Babe) Bender, adored mother of Nancy (the late Stan) Feldman, Robert Bender, proud grandmother of Michael Feldman (Jacob Laws), Andrew (Sara) Feldman, Lauren (Cole) Schlesselman, and loving great-grandmother of Nora and Cody.
Lois was predeceased by her parents Pearl and George Wolf, and her brothers Michael and Kenneth Wolf. She was the sister of Barbara Boyreau.
Lois was born in Chicago where she developed lifelong relationships. She volunteered in community organizations while raising her family. She treasured her summers with family at her summer home on Lake Michigan.

Lois attended the University of Missouri where she met the love of her life, Babe. They married and lived in Chicago until they moved to St. Louis. She quickly developed a large group of friends because of her outgoing personality. Lois volunteered at the National Council of Jewish Women, Jewish Hospital Auxiliary, Lighthouse for the Blind, and transcribed St. Louis Symphony programs into Braille. She also enjoyed her time volunteering at the St. Louis Art Museum. Lois was always active in her children’s lives and volunteered in their school activities. She loved her bridge group, Mah-Jongg group, and her many luncheons with close friends. She always found time to read at least one book a week and prepare a complete dinner for her family every night.
Our mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother was a strong and beautiful woman. Her number one priority in life was her family. She will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
