Leslee F. Levey, 79, of St. Louis, Missouri, passed away on May 15, 2025.
A lifelong St. Louisan, Leslee was the second of three children of Edwin and Estelle Fischer. She graduated from Ladue High School and then Washington University, where she met Lewis A. Levey in 1966. They married in 1967 and were each other’s partners and best friends for 58 years.
Leslee taught elementary school before raising her own children: Jon, Julie and Stephen. A committed mother, she never missed a performance, little league game, parent-teacher conference or milestone.
She was a beloved (and very proud) “Nan” to six grandchildren – Sam, Lauren, Julie, Daniel, Alexandra and Eliana – and a favorite aunt and great-aunt to many, including the children of friends she held close for more than half a century.
Highly sociable, Leslee loved to host family and friends and was celebrated for her cooking. Coffee cake “From the Kitchen of Leslee Levey” was a cherished gift, and baking such a cake alongside Leslee is a cherished memory of many, even if subsequent at-home versions never taste quite as delicious.
Predeceased by her daughter Julie, Leslee is survived by Lewis, her sons Jon (Jaimee) and Stephen (Stephanie), her grandchildren and her siblings Roxann Greenberg and Robert (Carol) Fischer.
A funeral service will be held Sunday, May 18, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. (CDT) at Temple Emanuel (12166 Conway Road). Private family interment.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Leslee’s memory to the Julie Anne Levey Memorial Endowment Fund at Duke University (Endowment Fund: 6114652); the Knight Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center at the Washington University School of Medicine (Knight ARDC: GF0004381); or a charity of your choice.
