John R. Keyes, April 24, 2025

John passed away Thursday morning after a long illness.

Dear son of Jesse H., Jr. and Mary L. Keyes; Beloved husband of Susan Keyes; dear brother of Jesse H. (Diana) Keyes, III, Martha K. (Fred) Cotsworth, L. Jean (Ron) Barker, William J. (Margaret) Keyes and the late James D. Keyes; Uncle, cousin and friend to many.

John was known for his love of animals.  He learned how to farm & raise animals from his father-in-law and at any one point he had cattle, miniature sheep, ducks & chickens.

He and Susan, enjoyed many years together traveling across the United States in their RV.  He would pick up plants and seeds along the way–usually forgetting to label them so that it was always a surprise to see what would grow!  John was also a great cook.  Every Passover he would go to the fish market to buy fish & grind it himself to make the best gefilte fish.

John was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.  Special thanks to the staff at Clarendale St. Peters & Solace Hospice.

Funeral Service Sunday April 27, 1:30 PM at United Hebrew Congregation, 13900 Conway Rd. St. Louis, MO. 63141. There will be a Visitation from 1 to 1:30 PM in the Chapel. Interment will follow at Beth Shalom Cemetery, 650 White Rd. 63017.
