Joan Feld Hollander, died May 26, 2015. Beloved wife of Stanley Nelson Hollander for 61 years; dearest most precious mother and mother-in-law of Michael, Susan and Robert (Huilan) Hollander; dear adored grandmother of Jack and Henry; dear sister and sister-in-law of the late Alvin (Suzanne) Lasky and the late Ronald (Sharon) Lasky; precious daughter of the late Jack and the late Eva Feld; our dear sister-in-law, aunt, cousin and friend. She succumbed to cancer after so bravely and valiantly fighting for 14 years. Joan attended Rossman School, Clayton High School, the University of Missouri at Columbia and Washington University School of Art. She was a “Life Member” of many charitable organizations, established a nursing scholarship fund at Jewish Hospital (now BJC), served on the Board of the Jewish Center for the Aged, chaired the Decorator’s Showcase for Goodwill and owned Joan’s Antiques Ltd. She loved to travel with Stanley, loved to write poetry, loved music, art and, she loved to be with all of us. She was the epitome of beauty; inside and out. Joan’s passion for life, her family, her friends and her indomitable spirit, gentle kindness, courage, love and grace, are the gifts she shared everyday of her life and they will be with us forever. Funeral service Friday, May 29th, 1 PM at the New Mt. Sinai Mausoleum, 8430 Gravois. No visitation prior to the funeral service. Interment follows.
