Beloved husband for 62 years of Marilyn Young, father and father-in law of David Young (Jody), Roger Young (Deborah Wenkert), Janet Rodgers (Lee) and Steve Young (Ellen). Dearest grandfather of Amye (Dave) Rappe, Sara (Eli) Baker and Alex Young, Benjamin, Jonathan and Nathaniel Young, Helen, Hannah and Mark Rodgers, and Abigail, Anna and Sally Young. Wonderful uncle to nieces and nephews, and beloved cousin.
Isaac Young was born in St. Louis in 1928. He graduated from Washington University music school and the Washington University School of Law in 1952. He practiced law in Maplewood until his death. He served as council member of Olivette, the mayor of Olivette for six years and the Olivette municipal judge for 12 years. As Chairman of the board of Camp Wyman (a free summer camp for youth in need), he was instrumental in acquiring additional property for the Camp and helping it to expand. He worked tirelessly as an advocate for Logos school, the City of Maplewood Chamber of Commerce and the Maplewood Kiwanis Club, and received too many awards of recognition from these groups to list. He was an avid tennis player, gardener, world traveller, classical music enthusiast, philanthropist, and lover of his grandchildren.
Services: Visitation Friday, May 13 after 12:45 pm at Kol Rinah. Funeral service will be held on Friday, May 13 at 1:30 pm at Kol Rinah, 829 North Hanley Road, 63130.
