Irvin Robert Zwibelman, affectionately known as Irv, passed away peacefully in St. Louis, MO, on July 18, 2025, leaving behind a rich legacy of love, dedication, and service.
Born to Louis and Celia Zwibelman, Irv’s journey began on September 20, 1933. He attended Dozier Grade School and graduated from Soldan-Blewett High School, where he served as a senior class officer. Irv pursued higher education at Washington University, earning a degree in Law. Irv’s career spanned an impressive 55 years, marked by his commitment to public service and the law. He served in the Air Force ROTC for two years, actively participated in Democratic politics, represented his community in the Missouri House of Representatives, and ran his own successful law firm.
On April 11, 1954, Irv married his soulmate, Sally Lite. Their love story spanned over 63 beautiful years, filled with adventure and unwavering companionship. Together, they raised three wonderful children: Tina Ohmstede, Janis (Greg) Tournillon and Jay (Andrea) Zwibelman. Irv’s pride and joy extended to his six grandchildren: Hannah Zwibelman, Zachary (Anthony) Zwibelman, Ethan (Haley) Zwibelman, JC Ohmstede, Amanda Tournillon, Kyle Tournillon, and his two great-grandchildren: Florence and Quinn Zwibelman.
The family loved their adventures in the RV and VW van, creating countless memories on the road. Sally and Irv loved to entertain, hosting many exotic parties that brought joy to all who attended. The grandkids adored spending time with them, whether swimming in the pool, visiting the campground, or playing games.

Throughout his life, Irv cherished moments spent trout fishing, playing bridge, attending the theater, cruising, traveling, and spending time with his family. His legacy will forever be remembered by those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Funeral service Tuesday, July 22, 10:30am at Congregation Shaare Emeth, 11645 Ladue Road with interment to follow at Beth Hamedrosh Hagodol Cemetery, 9125 Ladue Road.
